Ah, a new Woods single. This is always a treat. Apparently these two tracks were written and recorded alongside their recent 'Sun and Shade' album, so I guess this is a companion piece of sorts. On the first side we've got 'Find Them Empty', a classic Woods slacker-pop gem with some abrasive high-gain guitar soloing all over it. Flip it over and there's 'Be There', a longer, slower, atmospheric piece of smoky, minimalist folk with the trademark Woods falsetto and some weird fuzz-guitar-and-trumpet bits. As far as I know it's their first release on the perennially interesting Sacred Bones imprint, too. Total label-hoppers, these guys. Everyone wants to put them out. Not their best release in my opinion, certainly not a starting point for people unfamiliar with their albums (you should start with the practically flawless 'Songs of Shame', 'At Echo Lake' or 'At Rear House'), but solid nonetheless.
