8/10 Li'l Biz Staff review, 23 June 2011

I'm sure Seasick Steve thinks I'm a fucking idiot. In fact, I reckon both Seasick Steve and that dumb looking, third-rate Johnny Depp looking blues pretender Jack White are both taking me for a frickin' ride! 'Yeah, I'm Seasick Steve, the old time traveling blues-man and here's my humble friend Jack White. He's the fucking Ralph Macchio of modern blues and I'm just a whiskey swigging nomad with nothing to lose. Wherever we leave our respective hats, that's our homes. We just happened to leave our respective hats in giant mansions made of gold hemp leaf and PRS royalties... What's a publishing deal anyway? Where's my spittoon, etc... So, J. White gets Seasick lad in for a good old fashioned bombastic knees up and the result is the outrageously nasty blues rock stomper 'Write Me A Few Lines' and the laid back 'Levee Camp Blues'. It's blues with no soul. It's a piece of shit but you know, that's the way it goes in 2011. No one can even tell the frickin' difference nowadays...

9/10 Adam Fred Customer review,

Review above is wrong, Seasick Steve and Jack White play delta blues which is a timeless music, and it is great that it can reach a new young audience. You don't need to be dirt poor to play this music, the black delta musicians who started this music were also trying  to become entertainers and to get out of enslavering jobs. This is on an hommage to Fred Mc Dowell, enjoy and rediscover him.
