The new single from Sheffield's second favourite sons (after Sean Bean) is another high octane rocking number that almost seals their reputation as the UK's Queens Of The Stone Age. They seem to be content with rocking out, which is no bad thing. It's just I liked them a heck of a lot more when they were being proper Yorkshire types, with catchy hooks and funny lyrics. Now they seem to have hidden their flat caps and whippets just out of shot, and are peddling some sort of muscular American RAWK sound (Not like Skynyrd), a bit more like the aforementioned QOTSA, or summat else Josh Homme related. It's not too bad, but the flip side is harrowing. It sounds like Gene fisting Marion in an alleyway..it's proper crap. The title track might be enough to get you by, though...
7/10 James Customer review,
Dont know where the previous reviewer got 'muscular American RAWK' from, think he may have been listening to a different song from the album where this discription would happilly apply to. This is more a traditional indie pop song about love and girls. Typical comical Turner lyrics too - 'Thats not a skirt girl thats a sawn off shot gun, and i can only hope youve got it aimed at me'. Pointless reviewing this really as im guessing fans have already heard the song.
