We've been fortunate enough to score some physical copies of this album, which is now sold out at source. Mrs Jynx is probably most well known for her Planet Mu Releases and here she's in a similar mode to those tracks coming through like early Mike Paradinas with lush, warm and playful melodies. Here tracks are well executed with a fine balance of cerebral sounds and just a real sense of fun and joy which is lacking in a lot of contemporary electronic music. That's not to say there aren't some melancholy moments though, like the dreamy 'Purple' for example. Six tracks in all from this electronic wonder woman and all of them are hitting the spot right now. Next up are five tracks from Milieu displaying his diverse production skills and opening with some superb electro funk with Sage Derby. This chap can apply his skills to many genres making it appear effortless. These tracks are kinda rooted in classic Braindance and recalling the likes of The Wisp, Global Goon etc. Fieldtriqp I must admit I have never listened to before but know they've done stuff on Unlabel and Experimedia. Here they mix it up with some ambient moments as well as some laid back beat driven tunes. The highlight of which for me is the lush 'Abalone' with gnarly bassline , solid electro beats and euphoric synths. A cool meeting of like-minded artists all with their unique approach to very classic sounding electronica. If you dig the timeless sounds of early Planet Mu and Rephlex then check this out.
