1 review | Only 1 person has said they love this record: be the 2nd! These guys are coming at you straight outta Washington, and they sound quite good in a sort of retro songsmithery type of way. I think there is a Latin feel to this album, it made me want to salsa...well mebbe not but I just wanted to say "salsa" in a review. Some of this record is quite hard to pin down. 6/10 Dave Staff review, 13 May 2011

One moment it sounds like The Cramps or summat then it has other moments that sound quite bossa-nova. It actually leaps about all over the place!! It sounds quite lo-fi and scratty yet quite rich. The songwriting quality is quite high and this is an energetic recording. It sounds like the players had a super sweet time making it, which translates to much fun for the listener. The band with New York guitarist Jack Martin really nail there respective parts as Kid Congo scissor kicks and sashays his way to the top of the charts (probably). Guest stars Doug Mclure as Sheriff Winslow and Michael McDonald as soaring vocalist Reece La Plage. Another serious contender for the crown...I'm not sure which crown but it is a contender and a rather intriguing listen.
