Electro-acoustic, bet you any bastard money this is archival electro-acoustic stuff. It's totally got that look to it. Here it comes, it's.. Electro-acoustic. God I'm clever. He's good at it though, this Max Goldt.. Very good actually! It seems as though he spent the eighties messing with all the cool shit, prepared whatnots, effects doodahs, multi-track contraptions.. And tape loops, obviously. Always the tape loops. It's not hyper-difficult beard shit though as his stuff's got a very strong rhythmical sense and he tends to add a (very) off-kilter New Wave-esque pop element through his bizarre, Dada-style lyrics (about things like exploding cocoa, David Bowie's teeth, Margaret Thatcher's boyfriend's 'dark eye', youths needing more exercise, ash trees and people suffocating in cakes) delivered pure deadpan, like. I mean it's all in German but you get helpful translations on the inner sleeve to guide you through. More good shit from Gagarin.
