I was born in January therefore I have a natural affinity with this EP. I also like magic... I saw Paul Daniels at Leeds Grand Theatre when I was a nipper and he was the greyest man I've ever seen. I was born in January therefore I have a natural affinity with this EP. I also like magic... I saw Paul Daniels at Leeds Grand Theatre when I was a nipper and he was the greyest man I've ever seen. I've nver seen a greyer looking man. Talking shite aside I really liked these guys 1st album. It was on reasonably constant rotation at home for a good week or 2 (a long time in my house!). This EP has a slightly proggy feel to it and it reminds me a bit of Field Music. Complex clever pop with weird time signatures and more melodies than you could shake a shitty stick at. The EP has a mellow sensitive approach which will appeal to you folks who are a bit gentle, like a bit of melody and are scared by noisy rock music. Bits of it remind me of Radiohead from about 10 years ago. There's lots of layers of cleverly constructed vocals, instrumentation and effects all put together to make a great little EP of sophisto pop for ya ears.
