6/10 Phil Staff review, 07 April 2011
Every time I see the title of this CD I keep thinking it says mild disappointments which neatly sums up the contents of my life. It's been full of 'em. Even just thinking it says that and then realising it's called Mild Disappearances is another in a long line. I know fuck all about this guy except he used to be one third of a band called Fetish who were anti jazz. I've always been anti jazz so maybe I'd have a lot of common with this guy? I'd say the contents of the CD is reasonably anti music as there ain't any on here. It's a series of experimental noises largely populated by things that crackle, squeak, screech, click, grate and generally upset in no discernable order. I'd say chaos is the order of the day here and if you're after something in the harsher end of sound art etc then this is for you. Occasionally there's some intensely high frequencies, a spot of white noise here and there and in between all of that you get the above. Well intense!
