8/10 Ant Staff review, 12 May 2011
Side A of this 12" is the epic sixteen and a half minute 'Reise' beginning with drones and a distant kick drum which then emerges to the fore and is the foundation for haunting keys and than big dramatic sweeping synthesizer swoop across the soundfield. A very nice gloomy and eerie techno track, then midway the track moves up a gear and things really get going and more late night dancefloor friendly. Definitely recalling some of Carl Craig's work as is mentioned in the press release. Once you get sucked into the groove it simply wont let go. The percussion gets some heavier industrial sounds clanking away... What a trip! 'Berlin Tribal Music' on the flipside is not as dodgy as the title suggests. It is a slowbuilding exercise in minimalism, repetition and tension. 'Dancing Queen' is the most floor friendly of the tracks. A slow syrupy stomp with slight disco flavour. Not too sure about this track but the A-side is well good.
