I used to be terrified of free jazz. Now I regularly go to dingy strip clubs with my mate Free Jazz Joe & we recklessly snort heroin in the humid, filth-caked toilets whilst talking about destroying form & structure & just letting rip on a piece of well-oiled brass and, like, letting your mind transcend your body and that kind of thing. I once saw Joe kick his arch-nemesis The Spirit of Jazz in the nuts for having the audacity to suggest Miles Davis was better than Ornette Coleman. I stood there and laughed at this as everyone knows Free Jazz Joe is completely insane and should not be argued with, such is his volatile & unreasonable nature. He even shat in my wardrobe once, the mucky bugger. I think he may have been close to an OD that evening mind. At least he didn't molest my cat like Country Bob did that time. I'd like to play ol' Bob this actually. Just to fuck him up for violently disturbing my feline soulmate. The vocal gibbering & manipulation on here is like the most astonishing approximation of scat I've ever heard. Never mind the meandering, parping brass, strange frequencies, guttural honking & demented collapsing drums. One for the full-on heads, y' know......
