I can never remember what year it is. I can't even remember how old I am half the time. Useless.... And things like this album don't help. It's a brand new album featuring cover versions of classic kraut and psych tunes from the 60s. I don't know whether I'm coming or going. On the album you get cover versions of songs by Neu, Joe Meek, Hawkwind, Julian Cope, Pink Floyd, Can etc... All packaged on an LP and bonus 7". The tracks are done by the usual Fruits De Mer lot like Vibravoid, Sendelica, Cranium Pie and a bunch of other folks I've not heard of before. The covers are reasonably modern takes on those tunes.... They're all psychey and fuzzy apart from the Neu tunes which chug. There's only so much you can do with a Neu cover version to be honest. It's a brave thing to do is covering Neu I reckon. It makes sense as an album though and if you're into all things krauty, psychey and fuzzy then you'll love this. Also it features Nik Turner with Sendelica doing a Hawkwind cover on the bonus 7". Nice action! And if that all wasn't enough it's an ace gatefold sleeve on coloured vinyl and they all come with an old style model aeroplane. The likes I've not seen for about 25 years. Totally freaked me out when I saw them. Forgot how old I was and everything....
