You can't really argue with PJ Harvey can you? I can pretend not to like her. I can refer to a comment by a friend who noted that her albums always come out suspiciously just ahead of festival season. But all said and done the music is pretty brilliant. The A side of this (and Island please note: can you write A or B side on the label of the record so I don't have to flip from side to side wondering which is which?), is a very brief piece of modern folk music which samples both The Police and a bugle call by HM Irish Guards. Her voice is really excellent here, full of life and energy. A great wandering melody and interesting lyrics, not unlike Kate Bush at her very, very best. Strangely on the flip her voice sounds a little strained, its not brilliant but its a B side - what on earth did you expect?
