It was very very funny. They've made good on this split. They are still very funny and have thankfully not lost any of their Pere Ubu/Beefheart schtick. In fact they might have made it better. 9/10 Dave Staff review, 05 May 2011

I like both these guys. I saw Spin Spin The Dogs at some outdoor event once and they played Tusk by Fleetwood Mac for about 4 hours. It was very very funny. They've made good on this split. They are still very funny and have thankfully not lost any of their Pere Ubu/Beefheart schtick. In fact they might have made it better. It's all lolloping grooves and genuinley amusing lyrics. Vincent sings and his vocal barks and yelps are proper class. He's probably one of the funniest lyricists around at the moment. It would be rubbish on my part to repeat some of the gems that tumble from his mouth. I'm not going to ruin it for you though, you're just gonna have to trust me on this one. The band sound almost as crazy yet they sound well tight. They are just fucking great! If any of these guys want to get married to my sister, they have my blessing. 5 songs of Spike Milligan esque wonder. The Please side is as good as the Spin side. It's a different kettle of chips but equally as mental and extremely well played. In fact the musicianship is cock on! They also have amassed a rather sweet collection of cuts that are by turns very clever, super uplifting and occasionally quite sophisticated. There are loads of great moments on this record. Please have 4 songs on their side. Its one less than the Spin side but more than makes up by being simply fucking sweet. If these bands were boxers (fighters, not underpants) slugging it out for the world title youd have to call it a draw. Two of the best bands mincing about at the moment.
