- We're Not Cautious by Andrew Weathers Ensemble

This is part of a series wherein artists give each other strict instructions on composition in order to present them with challenges in the recording process. In this one Andrew Weathers was told (amongst other things) to cover a song he dislikes and only use guitar on one third of the music. I'm scrolling down to try to find which song he dislikes but can't find one that is obviously a cover. Anyway, that's the background information. The music itself is banjo led rural folk explorations with added organ, flute and field recordings. It drifts along as if in a stupor, like Sufjan Stevens on sleeping tablets. There's not much to report really, I keep waiting for something to happen. Occasionally a vocal breaks out but generally it's pleasant back porch picking, ideal soundtrack fodder.
