- When The Carnival's Gone by The Artichoke House
I always enjoy a Reverb Worship release these days. I struggled with a few of the sound-art ones from earlier days but now the feller who runs it has his massive ear to the ground hunting for the best in underground folk, both roots and progressive. This couple hail from Cornwall and provide us with some really sweet, lilting folk infused with well balanced M/F vocals and warm, perky instrumentation. There's some traditional elements but unlike "labelmates" The Hare & the Moon, all these songs are charismatic Artichoke originals. They even employ subtle field recordings at some junctures - these were recorded in Prussia Cove, a gorgeous inlet not too far from Penzance - there's some genuine Pirate heritage round those parts! Once again i'm having to pull my pants back up after they were literally charmed right off my hips and all the boys laughed at my Wacky Races shreddies. This is limited to a numbered edition of 75 and you'd be a right doylum if you ignored it!!

Bloody can't wait to listen....heard sample and LOVED it!! I am a SUPER fan of both Dee and G. Love their ethic, music and the haunting voice of the very special Dee. I am super excited about getting the new CD and adding to my iPod :)
