Just got a bunch of cool looking 7"s that are part of an ongoing singles club from Bruise Cruise. The Vivian Girls kick things off with a rather odd demo version of 'Surfin Away' where they seem to lose it about a minute in and end up kinda giggling their way to the end of the track. Not sure what the deal with that is... like, lets just release this cause it's funny and we don't really play it very well. I guess it'll work as a curiosity if you're a dedicated V.G fan but it just sounds half arsed to me. Flip it over and we're treated to a Jacuzzi Boys winner. I've got a soft spot for these guys so they tend to sound good to me whatever, but again, this has a slight demo feel to it. There's some nice bass synth modulation running through this track that sounds like the effect The Eddy Current suppression Ring use on their bass sound. It gives 'Your Flags' the cosmic touch that lifts this psych inspired garage rock tune. Also like the rudimentary guitar solo that seems to run through the entire track. This one comes on disgustingly mashed up canvas green vinyl which is good. Apparently they are all random colours so who knows what you'll get.
