The full length album from Rubble is one that took seven years to make (the vinyl pressing plant was on hiatus). These guys sound like the scuzzy Texans that they are. They sound totally unhinged!!! They play a racket that is psychedelic rock to the extreme. There's none of that jangly sort of psychedelia here, though. Just very big men with beards and cut off denim jackets pummeling you in the face with soundscapes and guitar riffs. This is sludgy rock high on drugged up histrionics and low on deft touches. It's a Butthole Surfers offshoot. That probably says more than my feeble words ever could. It's not a playful listen. Some of it sounds like hell spewing its many killers, rapists and John Terry into your mind passage. No one needs that folly. Its a solid, consistent record that threatens to strip the flesh from your bones and throw your corpse to somewhere truly horrid (like Armley). Its a trip to hell with nothing but a flask, a shoe and a rabbit that looks like Maxwell Caulfield for company. Its a psych rock slab of harsh quality. Not for everyone but an interesting listen nonetheless...
