7/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 19th June 2015

Brown Recluse hail from Philadelphia and are named after a spider that will give you a nasty bite. Their name is quite inappropriate as there is nothing nasty about this lovely indie-pop whose influences ostensibly go back as far as the Beach Boys, "Wooden Fingers" has taken the same route of conception as much of the High Llamas oeuvre, and there's more than a sprinkling of The Zombies here. There's an amount of Belle and Sebastian to it too, "Monday moon" probably being the most striking example. This is nice little find for anyone who enjoys their indie-pop with a bit of a jangle and a bit of tweeness.
