Again, another mysterious entity from the Release The Bats stable. This one's a 7" from Teenage Panzerkorps who've had a couple of bits out on Siltbreeze and Captured Tracks that I've not heard before. The A-side begins with a astral style intro before kicking into 'V3', a drum-heavy cosmic garage rock beast recorded in the oddest fashion. It's sounds like it was committed to tape with everything turned up to "incredibly loud". Reminds me of the early Pifco stuff. It's sorta shoegazy drone with Mark E. Smith style rantings over the top if that makes sense? The B-side confirms my shoegaze stab in the dark and sees the band jam it out over some goth tinged indie rock flavours whilst maintaining a mongy spaced-out fudge of a sound. A curious little lad of a 7" that I like a lot. The drummer in this band is called Catholic Pat which is a great stage name.
