It's garage Jim but not as we know it. These jerksome Mancs played what was belived to be the highest gig in Europe in 2007. This feat was eclipsed by press photographers nightmare and all time bell-end Jay Kay from Jamiroquai who ponced about in a jet at over 35,000 feet. What a douche. Anyway, back to these lads! I'd say they remind me of lots of good things like The Fall and mebbe even The Moldy Peaches, but with an English slant. They also remind me of several other garage reprobates. This 4-track 7" has some ace moments on it, such as the skittering "Stop The Clock" which is an upbeat classic. These cheerful young pups sound quite lo-fi and fun. Say, they sound like there having the best of times! It's such a shame that they cite Pete "Quick hide that needle, the rozzers are cahming" Doherty as one of their main influences. They even invite him onstage to sing with them, then realise they can't play the song because Pete has taken all the instruments to Cash Converters to fund his awesome smack habit, the porkpie hat wearing nonce. This is a good collection of songs that I recommend buying. BUY THIS NOW! (my boss wants another pool in his gold house)
7/10 Mr Pearl's Brain Customer review, 21st November 2016
Yay I love the Sticks! I love the way their songs sound like they were recorded in a bucket! I love their devotion to the vinyl 7"! I particularly love that their self-titled LP came our on double 7" and different sides played at different speeds! OK, maybe that was just annoying. I love this 4 track 7" EP with its short sharp lo-fi indie-garage songs, which is completely finished in about 6 minutes. And, er, the sleeve is a nice shade of brown! Ochre, maybe? No really, come back! The Sticks! Yay!!!
