These lads have featured on the odd 7" split and compilation but this is their first dedicated 7" single. 'Blah!' is four indie rock cuts played in a shambolic New York hipster style that reminds me of The Modern Lovers. They have a slightly agitated punk rock delivery that provides the charm but they've got the songwriting skills to keep the whole thing together. At times they sort of remind me of The Libertines which sounds like a criticism but it's not meant to be. 'Nervous Energy' is the best of the bunch here but they are all decent toe-tapping tracks. The sleeve is ace. Features loads of them cool adverts for x-rays glasses and 'throw your voice' gadgets you may have seen in the back of superhero comic books.
