Well I was already confused before I started listening, I started typing The Mountain Goats and thought it was a CD. It's neither. Well I was already confused before I started listening, I started typing The Mountain Goats and thought it was a CD. It's neither. It's 'Stealing Sheep' with a record called 'The Mountain Dogs', I'm listening to it on CD but its out on 7" vinyl. Thank goodness then that the lead track is a joyful blast of rinky-dinky indie charm pop with Cocorosie style vocals but swept along with breezy acoustic guitars and a nice eerie chorus. They throw the kitchen sink in there too along with 40's style harmonies, twanging guitars, thundering drums and all manner of assorted blown and squeezed things. At times a female alter-ego of early Coral but think also along the lines of Lykke Li and The Blow. According to the press release they are from Liverpool and have jammed with Sir Paul of McCartney. Well worth a listen and a purchase.
