Speaking of Not Not Fun, here come those pesky kids now with yet another sweet outing. Where do they get the cash to put out all this stuff? Who knows. Anyway, this one's the debut outing for Daughters Of The Sun a Minneapolis based outfit that combo up kraut grooves with kosmische synths and all out psychedelic rock guitar. The result is a drone-a-thon of epic proportions taking in elements of classic psych and Krautrock whilst also bringing to mind the modern interpretations of say A Middle Sex or Sun Araw. Vocals and synths drift to and from the fore front of mix whilst consistent percussion carry the momentum and give the guitars the freedom to whir and buzz in that eastern drone style you'd expect from Master Musicians of Bukkake and the like. Real arid desert drones played in an effortlessly tranquil way. Nice.
