For years I've wanted to change my name to Raoul. I reckon I'd make a great Raoul though I'd probably go with the alternate spelling of Raul. Talking absolute shit aside you may well recognise this chap for his artwork or one of his many releases on Planet Mu, Sublight or Ad Noiseam. He's a busy chap alright. This EP is more poppy and commercial than I remember him sounding but not in a shit way. The opener Cymbal Rush reminds me a bit of one of Radiohead's more electronic weirder numbers. It's very good 'n all. Though after reading the back of the sleeve I can see it's a Thom Yorke cover from The Eraser so that explains that one. The whole EP is reminding me of someone and it's doing my head in that I can't think of who.... Ant has just said there's elements of that last Tim exile album in there but that's not what I was thinking of. Cocks.... It's essentially bouncy electronic music with big clunky chunky sounding beats, useful keyboard refrains and ghostly sounding vocals propping it all up. Bouncy though, very bouncy. Clear vinyl edition of 250 and really quite good!
