Virgin Forest are ex members of Castanets and currently touring band for Phosphorescent. The press blurb likens this to Fleetwood Mac and I can see where its coming from. This is laid back, tasteful pastoral folky Americana with that kind of warm analogue sound the Mac were so good at. But really thats where the comparison ends - they don't really sound like Fleetwood Mac in the way Midlake have sounded like Fleetwood Mac, a more apt comparison would be Mojave 3, Smog or Radar Brothers in that its delightfully relaxed to the point of being almost horizontal, the songs drift along amiably with male/female vocals wandering along. What I like about it is that the songs are very brief - almost like vignettes, they seem to stop before they start and in this way the album has similarities to the superb Real Estate album. But if Real Estate significant influence was Yo La Tengo this lot from the sounds of track three may worship at the alter of 'The Good Earth' era The Feelies.
