Cloud Nothings main man Dylan Baldi has been a busy lad. It seems like only a few months back I was reviewing his first EP on Bridgetown and since then he's released a bunch of sweet singles, got signed to Wichita and played loads of shows all over the shop. I'm listening to Cloud Nothings debut for real and I'm enjoying it very much. It's crisp, energetic and laden with hooks galore. It sounds to me like a mix of Wavves manic style infused with the intuitive pop instincts of Guided By Voices and other classic 90's indie rock bands. With assistance from Baltimore's production wiz Chester Gwazda (who records the majority of the Future Islands stuff) Baldi has crafted an outstanding debut that will no doubt be rocking the world's ipods and hi-fi's in 2011 and beyond. Pitchfork are gonna fucking shit themselves when they hear this bad boy.
