Catwalk is the moniker of Nick Hessler, a resident of Oxnard, CA. With only 19 years on the clock and five years of writing/recording experience Hessler's music arrives at my door fully formed. '(Please) Don't Break Me' has a classic songwriting style that hints at the Beatles but has more in common with the Creation bands of the late 80's/early 90's. It's basically mod pop but with Spectorish production style that's heavy on reverb and high-end frequencies giving it a deliberate lo-fi (by today's standard) sound and a subtle psychedelic edge. B-side 'No Room For Love' reinforces this theory by adding a little neo-flower power influence to the mix. Sounds like Chapterhouse or Slowdive I reckon. Good stuff.
