- Technology and Truth by Dharma

'Technology And Truth' is the follow up to Dharma's 'Flesh' tape which is described in the press release as 'radical', not sure if that's 'radical' in terms of it being a 'radical musical departure' or 'Damn! This tape is radical!'. Probably doesn't matter though cause 'Technology And Truth' is radical in both senses of the word. Dharma specialize in an unsettling version of gothic pop and dub peppered with quirky electronics and ghostly vocals. To an extent it reminds me a little of LA Vampires with it's reliance on slow tempos, saturated reverbs and dirgy electronics but Dharma's vision is much darker and less 'Madonna if she was a goth' than LA Vampire's shtick. Well, it's not all dark, there's a healthy dose of humour to their work as on 'Slave Boy, Teach Me Geometry' but I guess that would still be considered a morbid or mad sense of humour to most... still funny to me though. Anyway, this is a great record chocker full of mutant electronics, obscure compositions and strange sounds. Looking inside the sleeve I also discover a picture of what looks to be my main furball 'Catrick'. So yeah, a great record with a free picture of my cat inside, what more could you ask for.
