8/10 Brett Staff review, 01 December 2010
I knew I remembered the name from somewhere: Danny Saul did that Liondialer thing with Greg Haines a ways back. And I certainly know the name Goldthwait but I feel that I should make as little as possible out of the fact that I'm reviewing something which has something (however tenuously) to do with Zed from Police Academy because it's just TOO exciting. You'd never be able to tell that his spat with Sam Kinison was on Danny Saul's mind when he was making this though, unless he's got a particularly bizarre way of mentally processing things - sucking comedic footnotes in and expelling them as elegaic drones, prettily twinkling piano melodies, ominous rumbles and occasional shards of almost Kevin Drumm-esque guitar noise. It's all really good stuff but I've got to make special mention of the two longer tracks - 'Robert Francis (Bobcat Goldthwait)' and 'On Howard Stern' - both of which are totally epic and showcase the versatility of this guy's talent.
