I'm well in awe of this guy's soundscapes. He makes mystical, searching ambient techno that truly takes you on a spiritual journey. Beats gently skitter or pulsate like they did on old beloved electronica opuses from the bygone days (think along the lines of the calmer end of Skam or Toytronic) whilst gentle kick drums and subtle bass frequencies attempt to anchor the ever-gliding, shifting tapestries of lush, hazy sonic wizardry. He infuses his lengthy movements with real sensuality & soothing moods. You truly get taken for a trip with Bvdub. He successfully bridges the gap between Biosphere at his most dreamy & profound and total classic mid-90s ambience such as Global Communication. Yet somehow Brock Van Wey shoehorns into his tunes a discreet contemporary dub techno element, way deep down in the mix. This means that although this CD has warm echoes of the past, it is quite probably the first great electronic release of the year 2011. His last release we could hardly keep in stock, this one has been number one on my night time playlist for weeks now and doesn't look likely to be shunted from its pole position any time soon.
