Curious sounds and string-conjured sadness abound in this one, a bubbling broth surprising juxtapositions. I would've got an 'A' for this review already if it formed part of my efforts for an English exam what with getting the word 'juxtaposition' in there and all. Chuck an 'archaic' in and it'd be A-stars all the way. Anyway, you've got your bits of field recordings, your acoustic instruments played in a folky, occasionally slightly Eastern European-sounding style, your kind of industrial clangy bits and your droney ambient bits all piled up together and combined in some pretty interesting ways to create quite a rich and unique atmosphere.. A fairly downbeat and mopey atmosphere but there's nowt wrong with that in the right time and place, now is there?
