Ooh here’s another CD in a box on Northwestern Recordings which includes some cardy insert things, a numbered insert AND... wait for it... a leafy thing in a small placcy bag. On closer inspection of the leafy thing I realised it’s a four-leaf clover and I’ve never seen one of those in all the time I’ve been on the planet. That’s completely and utterly 100% fucking mint and genius! As great as this CD may be I’m so in awe of the clover I’ve kind of switched off from it as I’m sure everything in my life is gonna get better. Thanks Adam...thadam. Actually I’ve since been corrected by my employees that is in fact a hydrangea leaf so I now feel like a massive fucking idiot...
Anyway this was originally released by the Great Pop Supplement on mega limited vinyl ages ago and it sold out in no time. So here’s a CD box to keep you going. Here you get eight tracks of very British-sounding psych folk. The first coupla tracks reminded me a lot of Syd Barrett with fuzzy guitars and quirky pop dominating the sound. By track three you’ve got this weird song which is half-solo guitar stuff which is looping and Ebola-like catchy and then halfway through it goes into a lollopping weird strummy drummy ploddy thing. It’s dead good.
So there’s all of that and some trad sounding folk on here and he’s aided and abetted by Owl Service and PG Six people. This is actually very good and accomplished. I can see why it’s been reissued and should you choose to nab one of these I hope you like it!

This is unexpectedly brilliant. I have no idea who Adam Leonrd is but I got the album as it was GPS and the songs and whole sound and feel - are genius. I am looking around for more. Lillian is the winning tune for me. A beautiful piece of work. xx
