These lot seem to be in much demand with a string of sold out singles already behind them. Its one of those albums that is pretty clear from looking at a photo of the band what they will sound like. They consist of ex-members of Eighteenth Day of May and Soledad Brothers and they peddle a 60's obsessed mod-ish brand of bright guitar pop that would sit perfectly at home between your Searchers and Hollies records. Its unashamedly retro and when not recalling the original 60's outfits, it is similar to those 80's bands similarly in thrall to original sixties dust (The Dentists, Barracudas etc) and the straighter edge of the paisley underground (Dream Syndicate, Chesterfield Kings) or at times the laid back 70's vibe of The Band. Its on the right side of your Ocean Colour Scene/Cast brand of retro-ism so don't worry about that. Probably coming to a Weller support slot soon, though the modfather himself with his recent experimentations may find this a little staid at times.
