The Arthur Russell re-issues keep on piping out. This one, however, is well worth the admission price. It's a curio. A recently found lost track, it features the estimable Mr Russell on cello and vocals while Allen Ginsberg interjects at random intervals. Half way through it goes quite Yacht Rock but its still quite bizarre. Its from around 1975 so its pre Arthur's disco period. The B side is even more odd; a Ginsberg mantra recorded in 1971 on which Russell plays cello. This is actually quite beautiful and moving and is the most impressive piece of music of the two. Housed in a lovely screen printed sleeve with hilarious drawings of the two of them by Archer Prewitt.
