I'm not gonna start taking these tracks to pieces. How can you mess with cerebral techno perfection? Ruskin & Regis's powerful blend of classic, crisp UK underground techno & atmospheric dark ambience has so far thrown up three interconnected clear vinyl 12"s with remixes on the last two from Robbie Hood & Benny Klock and that. Now the fourth installment is here and it's Ost Gut Ton regular Marcel Dettmenn who's throwing his reformed beats around this time. This is powerful stuff with an astral Jeff Mills feel especially apparent on the "second construction". Cosmic Industrial anyone? The slamming hypnotic thud of the 'MDR version' is all I need to convince me to get the fuck out to more techno nights this summer, the sound systems are getting better by the year and the new music being made across the many lands is increasingly sublime. If you're sick of even going near all that dubstep wobble and want something fresh but familiar to cleanse your palette? I must say this sounds utterly flooring and should totally restore any doubting techno lovers faith in the more enlightened end of the dancefloor. Comes in a sleeve to hold all four volumes so I hope, like our Anthony, you've been keeping up there at the back??
