The Hemlock main-man makes his debut for R&S with a total stormer. 'Stereo Freeze' rocks the classic Numbers / Think Tank boombastic electro stomp with jagged twists and a gnarly subcurrent coming from the menacing bass. A midway breakdown makes way for a slamming kick back in moment. The tune has total floor energy and a distinct crunch and futuristic edge that recalls stuff on Touchin' Bass, particularly Nomadic plus I'm even reminded of Gescom's groovier moments. A cracker of a track no doubt. 'Mass Dreams Of The Future' has a klonky DX synthesis sound that is in a total Derrick May / Transmat style but doesn't quite reach those levels of greatness. Anyone that had this man down as just another dubstep producer should take note that he can switch up into Detroit techno / electro mode with ease. On the money!!! This lost out being single of the week by a best-of-three toss of the coin by the way, that's how good it is!
