'Such Fun' and 'Can't You See' are the debut songwriting efforts from Manchester resident Martin Cohen. 'Such Fun' is in the vein of Guided By Voice and shoots out of the trap with pure slacker gusto. The guitars are thick and distorted, the vocals are well Kurt Vile and the songwriting is both simplistic and reliable in the way you'd expect. It's garage rock and bubble gum pop combined to make a lush bubblegaragepop smoothie. Oh, the guitar solo is really good too. B-side 'Can't see You' has that Woods doing a Spectrals song type of appeal. It has a classic Orbison style guitar and vocal melody but it's amped up and fuzzed-out of all recognition. Not quite as good as Mazes but certainly up there with the best of what Manchester has to offer at the moment.
