This is their 3rd album on Sublime Frequencies, guys. You excited yet? You should be! In case you wanted to know what kind of music they make it's Mauritanian folk music. In case you don't know where that is it's near the Sahara so I reckon these guys get well toasty when they're playing live. What with all the lights and that..... I like this a lot. Am only 2 songs in and I already think it's my favourite album by them. To be honest I know nothing of the music from this part of the world so I'm to gonna pretend to sound like I know what I'm on about. I do like a lot of this kind of thing though and it sounds great. Lots of widdly stringed instruments and crazy percussion blended to make an almost otherworldly sound like you've not heard before. The sound is a busy one and it's not a million miles away from the joy of Omar Souleyman but without the insane rave beats. As ever with pretty much everything on the label it's a must have. Sublime Frequencies continue to release some of my favourite records at the moment god bless 'em.
