I totally got into Fern Knight a few years ago. 'Music For Witches & Alchemists' totally did it for me. I totally got into Fern Knight a few years ago. 'Music For Witches & Alchemists' totally did it for me. I wanted to review the last album that came in and it was one of those that arrived late when we were busy and it got missed. So I grabbed the newie to check out hoping for great things. If you've not heard them before they're basically a massive bunch of hippies making gentle paced psyche folk. It's really lovely as well. Margie Ayre's voice is gorgeous and it drips all buttery-like into your ears over the folky strings and other shenanigans going on. I guess if you're fan of early Espers then you'll like this. They have a much cleaner, less fuzzy sound though which I reckon has something to do with Jesse Sparhawk's magic harp fingering in the background. It's very delicate music which has a magical quality to it and it should appeal to all you folky botherers out there. Excellent!
