Both musically and visually Trash Kit recall The Slits (RIP Ari Up). They wear face paint, play their guitars in a lop sided, offbeat manner, sing in that odd English/German accent, have clattery drums and have sections of songs that descend into tribal howling. I like the fact that two of them are called Rachel and that one of their grandmothers made the art used on the sleeve. As well as The Slits this recalls fellow pioneers The Raincoats at their most sprightly.
