An Introduction To Elliott Smith gathers together highlights from the late singer/songwriter’s career. It includes tracks from his debut album, Roman Candle up to the posthumously released album, From A Basement On A Hill and Miss Misery - the song from Good Will Hunting that earned him an Oscar nomination. It’s essentially a great collection of songs from an artist who needs no introduction.

- An Introduction To… by Elliott Smith
9/10 Penrith Steve 29th June 2015
The music on here is without doubt 10/10 stuff but it would be better splashing the cash on his entire back catalogue, you won't be disappointed. However, if you just want to dip your toe in the water then you could do a lot worse than this collection. It features songs from all 6 of his albums including what are arguably his two best songs, "Ballad of Big Nothing" and "Waltz #2". It also includes his Oscar nominated song "Miss Misery" from "Good Will Hunting" which wasn't included on any of his albums. Many years ago I got into The Velvet Underground through listening to a "Best of" much to the chagrin of some older, cooler guy, so this method can be ultimately rewarding. I wouldn't blame you for buying this.
