This offering from rustic 8-piece Bert Jansch enthusiasts The Mariner's Children is quite a charming record. Its mostly gently strummed, softly sung folk jobbery. It sounds great. It reminds me of folk-horror. You can almost envision these songs being married with the most haunting, bleak scenes from somthing like 'The Devils Claw'. Some of it is quite upbeat and jovial, but with an underpant (I mean undercurrent) of Home Countries, wind swept moors
