That Black Moth Super Rainbow dude returns with a companion piece to the summer's 'Maniac Meat' LP. Here we get three brand new tracks accompanied by four super reworked numbers from 'Maniac Meat' with collaborative assistance provided by Anti-Pop Consortium, Doseone, Rob Sonic (Def Jux), Serengeti, Zackey Force Funk, Wham City associate Height, and Icicle Frog. If you've heard either Tobacco, or any other Anticon releases for that matter, you'll be aware that they trade in wild ass underground reinterpretations of traditional hip-hop forms, twisting that shit inside out to create new and exciting flavours. I thought 'Maniac Meat' had some pretty sweet moments and it doesn't surprise me that the album was a collaboration with Beck, another artist known to dabble in genre mashing, beats and rhymes... This shit is certainly on the same page. The rhyme collaborators really go for it on LA Uti with Doseone and Anti-Pop Consortium being particularly memorable efforts. Musically, we're talking loud, lairy and out of control with distorted samples and massive beats assaulting the ear throughout. You can totally feel that compression. An awesome 12" with super ridiculous artwork. Check it out YO! YO! YO! YO!
