What's going on with Pocahaunted? Has everyone left now? The press release explains that this is the final document of the band in 'triforce-vocal' mode so I'm assuming something is going on. Anyway, this was recorded at the end of their three week US tour by Fucking Champs/Nation Of Ulyssess axeman Tim Green and documents the band on damn fine tour form. A-side 'Threshold' winds itself up slowly with ghostly guitar ambience and rolling beats before shifting gear to full on kraut rock mode. It's probably the best tune I recall hearing by the band. B-side 'Echolocation' starts beautifully with loose bass and cute keys teasing the listener in a slow dance dub jam and it's even better than the A-side. Anyone interested in Pocahaunted is gonna get this one due to it being the last release by this line-up but if you've not heard Pocahaunted before then this would be a great place to start. Going out on a creative high is certainly no bad thing. Great 7".
