8/10 Brian Staff review, 30 September 2010

Loving the atmospherics on this disc. Heidi E. is an NZ native who recently worked with Part Timer and recorded this album in a "tiny room in Sydney" It certainly has the feel of a travelogue, veering from gentle, tender songs to magical chamber folk, and occasionally, charming field recordings. Throughout there is a soothing, delicate nature to the music - Heidi's voice is a tentative, dreamy purr and fits these sparse, affecting & brittle songs like a glove. Lots of her friends have added various sympathetic spots of instrumentation to these exploratory miniatures and free-flowing excursions. I don't know how you'd describe much of this CD. Her primary instrument is the harp but there's tons of subtle embellishment throughout from a vast array of stringed & brass instruments. I'd recommend this CD to anyone who bought The Laura Gibson & Ethan Rose CD, fans of Laura Veirs, Mirah, Joanna Newsom & last week's Brave Timbers loveliness. Really nice gear!
