The title track runs the entire duration of the first side and it's clear from the off that the man is working in fine form. The repetitive acoustic guitar works a treat evoking vivid sun bleached abstract images. Meanwhile some otherworldly drones lie beneath. At first things feel light and breezy with a delicious summer feeling but as things get going and lots of little sounds creep in, it becomes extremely intense and almost disorientating as things start swirling round. It actually makes me feel like I need to lie down and close my eyes. I reckon I'd be away with the fairies for sure... Phew!!! What a track! Transcendental is the word. 'The Looking Glass' is a little mellower but no less potent. Again the acoustic guitar is the anchor around which our man uses an impressive array of instruments; electric guitar, bouzouki, sarangi, tambura, organ, hurdy-gurdy, electronics, field recording. comes in heavy duty board jacket with stunning photography by Joe Blanchard and on heavyweight vinyl. Highly recommended.
