'"21th Century-Electronic-Krautrock" is perhaps the best description for the album' says the press release. Sounds good (well, apart from the '21th' bit). BUT IS IT? Well, the throbbing mid-tempo bass pulse is definitely good. And the windy sounds, which manage to evoke isolationist stuff whilst also having a warmth to them, are pretty good. The way the groove builds up as it subtly adds more and more elements is really good. The way the beat stops dead as the second part of lone song begins, opening everything up into more of a widescreen soundworld, is totally good. The guitar.. I'll have to get back to you on that one but it does remind me a bit of late-period Ash Ra Tempel stuff, which is good of it really. So yeah, it's good.
