8/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 14th July 2015

The Posies are extremely proficient at knocking out perfect power pop. "Blood/Candy" is their seventh studio album and is almost up there with their best, "Frosting On The Beater" and "Amazing Disgrace". "The Glitter Prize" is the first great song on here and does everything you want power pop to do. "Licences To Hide" carries that on with its Beatlesy stomp. "So Caroline" is reminiscent of the music on Cheap Trick's Steve Albini produced self-titled comeback. The middle section of this album is great with four tracks one after another that are the best four on the album "Cleopatra Street", "For The Ashes", "Accidental Architecture" and especially "She Coming Down Again". The latter is reminiscent of their earlier work and has a certain Monkees-ness to it. It features guest performances from The Stranglers' Hugh Cornwell and Letters To Cleo vocalist Kay Hanley. Great stuff.
