This was OMD's 2010 album and at the time it was their first since 1996. It was described by ever confident leader Andy McCluskey as being their best since Architecture and Morality; he was, of course, talking utter piffle. This isn't better than Dazzle Ships by any stretch but it was good to have them back.

7/10 Jack Customer review, 10th July 2017
Upon first listen, the album sounded better than it actually was. With repeated listening, I felt I came up with a more accurate rating for this album. It has some very good tracks, quite a few okay tracks, and a couple of undesirable tracks. There is a good deal of variety here, so nothing to get at all bored with. Overall, a very strong return to form for a band that had not worked on an album in 24 years. I know the History of Modern may have disappointed some fans, but I like all phases of OMD.
