Bloody hell, here's this week's dose of rampant fruit-cakism from today's most prominent mad-as-lorries award contenders. Setting out their stall somewhere between berserk cartoon jazz, funky 60s soundtracks, quirky easy listening & bloopy Ghost Box style hauntologicalisms - this is the kind of demented tinkering & fun experimentation Norman Records used to pride itself on stocking. I'm reminded of Terry Edwards in a couple of spots, but also this is the kind of music you'd expect to find on one of those old Vespertine comps. Think of Broadcast's really out-there exotica snippets too...and think of tap dancing! Consider the surprises you used to get from the most elaborately packaged & random record/CD you could lay your hands on any week & return to that way of thinking instead of just buying the latest hipster shit that every other fucker is buying. Get this CD, it is super-awesome fun and is really nicely put together!! Check their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/thelondonsnorkellingteam for more curious ephemera....
